Took my three little grandchildren here for the first time and it was a huge hit. There are great trails for walking and imagination and fun. Inside the footprints are impressive, lots of buttons to push for little hands and a fun room to enjoy some creativity. A definite must for a nice few hours. You can picnic outside in... More

Lovely half day out. Especially on an autumn morning the trails are small but beautiful with wildlife all around, including an abundance of chipmunks and wild flowers. Our visit to the actual footprints exhibit was shortened by our need to get to a hire car pick up and we wish we could have stayed longer. The exhibits are quite detailed... More

Stumbled across information for Dinosaur State Park, while researching something else in CT. We were RVing our way to Florida, and I was taken by the idea of making a cast of a real dinosaur footprint. You need to bring your own supplies (plaster of Paris, bucket, oil, rags). Check website for specifics. It was fun and easy to do,... More

We had a great time! Dinosaur footprints, activities for the kids, a ball python and great trails to walk! Reasonable price!

My two kids aged 4 and 6 had a fun couple of hours here. We walked around a few of the trails, mined for gems (which was expensive and quickly over), watched a movie in the museum, looked at the exhibits, and played for a while in the discovery center. They have an area outside to do plaster casts, but... More

We had no idea what to expect at Dinosaur State Park and we were very pleasantly surprised! The Exhibit Center is small, but very interesting and very focused. Housed in a (cool) geodesic dome, it surrounds the Trackway--one of the largest dinosaur track sites on the continent-- and it features films and activities throughout the day. The fact that it... Several walking trails outside, but only approx, 0.6 miles each, and not much to see on them, just walking in the woods. Museum is ok, but not much to see apart from the preserved dinosaur tracks, which I suppose is the only reason we stopped. I lasted about half an hour inside and another hour outside then that was enough.

I recently took my mother to visit the Dinosaur State Park in Rocky Hill. Unfortunately, the staff there did not treat my mother with the respect she deserves. I traveled to my native state, CT, to spend a few days taking my mother out to eat and to visit local attractions. My mother is 88 years old, hard of hearing... More

I took my 9 year old grandson to this park because he wants to be a paleontologist and is very interested and well informed regarding dinosaurs. We arrived on a Thursday afternoon to "scout out" what we wanted to see or do the next day. The park closes at 4:30; the trails at 4:00. We arrived at 2:40 and were... More

We took our 4 year old granddaughter here on a hot sunny day. When you walk in to the dome, you immediately pay admission and weave your way through the small gift shop (strategic location). The displays were interesting but Lucy's favorite part was the interactive room behind the front desk - lots of drawers filled with dinosaur or animal... More
