Quite a magical place. Very calm. Surrounded by grandiose Baikal with turquoise water. Sacred cows licking sweets or salt off the rocks. Bluest ribbons on wooden posts. All adds some magical aspects to this special place. I would strongly reccomend.

A beautiful view of Baikal from Olkhon island. Very peaceful and contemplative - for walks along the shore, climbing down to pebbled beaches, sitting on the rocks and enjoying the moment. Splendid sunsets.

Shamanka rock is the main attraction on Baikal Lake. The largest resort is in this area. All the hotels are nearby. People will take minibus to the Baikal Lake in Winter to see the ice crack. The most peak season for tourist is in January...More

We were lucky to be there under a very nice weather. The sunset was absolutely gorgeous. We stayed until the sky turned purple... It was wonderful.

take cab bus from local tourist agency and sleep in Guesthouses on Island reserving tours directly there with them..cheaper and easy!
