There are several well-marked trails. At least one is primarily paved and easy to walk. You can hike, bike, run, walk your dog, picnic here. It is very clean, with ample parking. A really great resource convenient to highways, restaurants, and more.

We have lived in the area all our lives and as the children have grown, we have experienced pushing the strollers around the park, bike riding, mountain biking, trail hiking and now cross country meets! Great location near West Hartford Center and UCONN Health. Bring...More

As a former resident of West Hartford, CT, I have many memories of walking and running around the town's several reservoirs. Safe, with ample parking, the reservoirs always have walkers, but not so many that the natural ambiance is spoiled. The reservoirs are a delight...More

The reservoir on Farmington Avenue in West Hartford is lovely. Many families walking, biking and jogging. Wonderful place to take your dog for a long walk. The reservoir - our source of clean water in West Hartford - is beautiful.

Have been going here a few times/year for many, many years. The main loop is now almost 100% paved with dedicated bike paths (although some people walk their dogs in them). Nice loop (maybe 4+ miles and can easily repeat without getting bored).

It is usually open to sunset. But I would recommend checking by going to website for the Connecticut Metropolitan water district. This site gives trail maps and phone number you can call.

I agree..there should be some maps! I stay on the bike marked trail. It took me completely around. I can.t say how long it took because we stopped at the picnic tables by the reservoir and had a picnic lunch.
