What a lovely way to get from the Jersey Shore area to beautiful Lewes Delaware or further South. Take the ferry instead of driving. Even if you don't get out of your car and you nap for the 90-minute trip, it's just so much better....More

We drove from Del Co, PA to Lewes hoping to catch the 12:15pm ferry. We missed it by 5 minutes, so we had time to kill in Lewes, DE. The ferry attendant suggested we buy our ferry tickets then spend time getting to know Lewes....More

When we got to the booth to show our booking # and drivers license the old woman was very snippy. Got on board heading back to NYC, got a table in the upper inside deck. Seas a little rough but fun, good selection of beers....More

Food was edible, but the service wasn't great and the ambiance could have been better. Being from Europe, we couldn't even smoke in the parking lot.

My only complaint is the price. Ferries in my state are free, so the price was surprising, particularly that we paid per car and per passenger. It was very nice, though. I'm glad we weren't on one that was completely full.

Please check with the Cape May Lewes ferry schedule. It is now high season, the best buy is walk on if the shuttle is running

9:45 to 10:00 to pass through the ticket clerk and get placed in a boarding lane. Both terminals have bathroom and food and drink services, so you do not have to wait in the vehicle.
