The center was closed. The area around it is not very nice. There are big rigs from a business park there. The pier is completely broken. Can see some birds.

Cool Little Place for hands on education . Touch a horseshoe crab, learn about their life cycle. See various live sea creatures. Pretty little setting. Free trip. Have fun!

I love the Dupont Nature center. So much info about the area and the wildlife. Beautiful there. They also tell much about the unknown Indian Tribes that lived on shore.

Definitely if you're in or passing through Slaughter Beach you should stop here (otherwise I wouldn't make a special trip). There are displays, etc. explaining all of the local wildlife unique to this area. There was also a live stream video from across the bay...More
