Lovely setting

Conveniently located near other small parks. 1.1 mile paved trail around the perimeter of the reservoir. Sunsets are something to see during an evening walk.

The reservoir itself isn't anything spectacular. But if you turn your back to it, it does allow for a gorgeous view over the Newark area. We were there in the evening, so the sunset was pretty and we saw some deer at the edge of the woods. Basically it just gives you a place to look out from.

Go early and you'll usually get a wildlife treat. Fox, deer, bald eagles, great blue herons, egrets, snakes. I do hope they get the playground built soon. That would make a great public park even better.

I love to walk here. The trails around it are awesome for biking as well.. It's never to crowded and always very peaceful and there's a nice breeze.

This is one of the highest places in NCCounty and the views are beautiful. It's an uphill climb to the top but once there, the "pond" is flat. Lots of runners, dog walkers, and nature lovers frequent this spot. It's especially great when you can time the sunset with a rising full moon... Its spectacular! You can't swim in the... More

I enjoy walking this trail when I want an intensive aeobic walk, you have a hill to climb to get your hear rate going, then the circumference of the path is nice and flat. Go get a workout!!

I use the walking trail sometimes when I want to go for a jog or a run. The whole entire trail is beautiful and a steep incline at the end gives you a good workout. Beautiful view once you reach the end of the trail. If you're lucky you might see a deer or two along the way.

This is a hidden oasis in Newark. Watch local birds, or local people, watch the sunset, or just stare at the water. It is a very nice escape in the heart of Newark!

Great place to walk. You have to get to the top so if you are not used to walking up hill be aware. The view is lovely and all around a great place to take photos as well.

Thank Jacqueline L
