This is a nice, quiet place for a walk very close to the beach, next to the Henlopen Hotel. The lake is fairly extensive and divided by a bridge for cars and pedestrians. It has picnic tables, water pumps, benches, and a children's playground. There's a path around the entire lake which has water birds during the right seasons. It's... More

Very relaxing place behind the Henlopen Hotel to go for a quiet walk. Also has a playground for little ones. They have some benches to sit and enjoy the calm surroundings. You cannot put your feet in this lake...it's for admiring only. We loved it as a nice, flat place to get a bit of exercise.

Beautiful Lake w/ great views and playground for children. We have walked it and cycled around it every year. Serene areas and convenient location in downtown Rehoboth.

A great little get away to go and relax for a bit. They have a few benches where you can just sit and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature. You also get to get away from all the people on the boardwalk. It is very enjoyable in the evening.

Lake Gerar is a hidden gem tucked away just behind the Cape Henlopen Hotel and Condominium. It is picture perfect early in the day or just at sunset; walk around the Lake; fish from the fishing pier on the west side of the picturesque bridge that cinches the lake at its narrowest point; or stroll along the grass covered banks... Nice what to fish off of = very much quiet and off the beaten track (boardwalk). Fishing wharf is great.

Very nice respite from the hustle and bustle of mainstreet Rehoboth. A small but lovely lake (more like a large pond) within easy walking distance from most areas of town and an easy walking path around it. Very easy to segue within a 1/2 block to a walk on the boardwalk.

Lovely Lake Gerar is just two blocks from the north end of Rehoboth boardwalk. Pretty flora and fauna in all seasons. Plenty of parking. Walk this pretty lake to work up a morning appetite, then walk to the boards and enjoy a breakfast at Disney's Boardwalk Hotel Restaurant.

Our hotel -- The Breakers Hotel & Suite overlooks Lake Gerar. My husband find this part of Rehoboth Beach very relaxing and peaceful and away from the noisy Funland boardwalk. Great area to stroll and stop and drink a cup of coffee each morning to start the day.

Across the street from the Breakers Hotel and tried to do some birding since it was so close. Not at large as you might first think and contains swings for children.
