Came here to tour the ship, which I saw featured in a local magazine. The ship was closed to tours. I went thru the small exhibit they had, models of all kinds of ships. They did have a very interesting short documentary about the ship and the history of the settlement of Delaware, which I found very interesting. Timely for... More

Our group toured the ship - the outside guide actually was extremely interesting with all the aspects and descriptions of the marking on the ship. Inside puzzles together how they survived on the ship daily. The museum will be nice when they have finished setting everything up.

I was very disappointed in the trip as far as how far out we went. We just made a big circle in the harbor area and that was it. I thought for $60.00 per person it was a terrible price to go no further out then we did. In my younger days, I could have swam out further out than... More

We had the luck to be in Provincetown in July when this amazing ship was in port! We loved our afternoon sail! The captain and her crew made our experience extra special! It was obvious that the crew and volunteers all loved what they were doing. It was a beautiful day for sailing and a memory we will cherish always!

This museum in an out of the way location is a small gem. While the main attraction is the sailing vessel the Kalmar Nyckel, but the Forney Collection of model ships (mostly sailing vessels) is fascinating, well displayed and accompanied by thoughtful and interesting text and pictures. Great way to spend an afternoon.

We did the $35 11-1230pm cruise on the Christina River for $35. A restroom is available, sodas, water and snacks $1 each. The crew and captain are great. That being said, this trip was a bit boring. They do have a canopy that thankfully provides shade and the attendees have a chance to hoist a rope but if you have... More

Rides can be purchased on the Christina River in Wilmington DE or from Lewis, DE during certain weeks in the summer. Check their website for current ship location.

The Kalmar Nyckel is docked in Provincetown while I'm here every year it seems. This year I decided to go on a sailing excursion. We had the most amazing time! When given the chance to work with the crew, I jumped at it. I joined the crew raising and trimming the sails. It was hard but exhilarating work. It was... More

I found it fascinating to watch the crew prep & sail the ship. Most of them are volunteers who have been trained in certain aspects of sailing a "Tall Ship" and they were willing to share their expertise with the passengers. The KN Foundation is in Wilmington and volunteers can show up whenever the ship is in dock, to work... More
