The museum is good for history buffs; lots of stairs to climb. The walkway is pretty much non-existent; use the shell road. It requires some walking from the parking lot to the lighthouse over un-even ground; elevator does NOT work. Restrooms are also up several stairs/ramps. No food/drinks to purchase anywhere nearby. Beach area is nice, and water is clear... More

Took a chance and drove to this beach from Cape Coral. Wow!! So glad we did! Was definitely worth the drive. The water reminds me of the water right when you start to get into the keys. It was beautiful turquoise blue! There were not many people on the beach at all and March is peak season. There was plenty... More

Park your vehicle in one of the many State Park parking lots (bring singles to pay), stroll the beach for a bit and make your way to the lighthouse. You can also wander through the museum. For you shellers, the shelling is good in this area, so have fun watching the waves and see what rolls in. You'll often see... More

We visited during the off season and enjoyed our time on the beach and came back to see inside the lighthouse/museum. A neat history timeline and artifacts and shells. The beach is narrow and the sea oats create mounds to lay behind for a windshield. Be sure to walk around and through the park. Made for some pretty cool photos.... More

Stopped at end of day for shelling. Rain was coming, which afforded a beautiful view. Caught a rainbow and got nice pics.

We drove to the end of the island and discovered the State Park. It appears to be a great spot for sunning and fishing. Very quiet and private. A great place to take a book and read while the children play by the water.

Went here on my last day in Florida this year. What a treat!! A friend recommended Gasparilla Island to us and we decided to try it because of all of the "red tide" issues along the Manasota peninsula beaches. We arrived early in the AM (highly recommended) so we had choice of beach location. We took a stroll around the... More

Gasparilla Island has such a great heritage and the lighthouse museum is fun to spend time in. The beach wraps around the point and is great to watch sunsets.

A very nice secluded beach with picnic tables ,grills and restrooms. This beach is generally not crowded but has limited parking.(parking day pass was $3 in 2017)
