Come join us on a fun filled, narrated sightseeing tour of Clearwater's harbor. Enjoy a relaxing ride while you learn about our abundant wildlife, and view the area's dolphins in their natural environment. Every trip stops at Compass Island where you can collect shells, swim, snorkel and the kids can even hunt for treasure! Dolphin sightings are guaranteed*. Excursions depart from the Clearwater Beach Marina multiple times every day. Spend an hour and a half to an hour and forty five minutes with our highly trained crew in the Clearwater Harbor on board our 40 foot Coast Guard inspected excursion boat. For twenty to thirty minutes during your trip, the boat will stop at Compass Island where you will have the opportunity to shell hunt through thousands of shells, swim, snorkel (gear is provided) and enjoy the island. Our boats are available for charter as well. If you're looking for something more intimate with friends and family on the water we can accommodate. We have done weddings, rehearsal dinner socials, proposals, birthday parties, bachelor parties, anniversaries, school and church groups and family reunions.

Everytime we come to Clearwater Beach, we take the Encounters With Dolphins boat trip and have never been disappointed. The nice 2 hour trip is well narrated and many interesting sights are pointed out. We followed a pod of dolphins for about 1/2 hour on this trip. Also there is a stop at a small island to collect shells as... More

We enjoyed our trip. We saw several pods of dolphins. The boat was good enough. Plenty of cover to stay out of the sun. A little dated for restrooms. The island was tiny. Lots of other small, personal boats were there. Seamed to be a decent meeting place for locals. Not great for shells. Most were busted in many pieces.... More

This was the second dolphin tour we have done from the pier. I rated both tours 5 stars but for different reasons. The first tour we did a couple years ago was with Little Toot. Little Toot did a better job than Encounters with Dolphins of getting the dolphins closer to the boat and getting them airborne. Our photos from... More

If you want to experience a cruise on the inland waterway and spot the many dolphins that make the Clearwater area home, this is a very good option. They run about 3 excursions a day, and if you choose the last one, it usually couples as a sunset cruise as well. We saw about 10 dolphins the time we went... More

We chose this tour because it was slightly longer than the other dolphin boat rides in Clearwater and included the island shelling - for a lower price. We didn't book ahead of time, just walked up to the stand and happened to be on time for the next ride. We didn't buy the picture keychain of ourselves. Nor did we... More

First, there's a $2 off coupon in the area's map - available at the dock - that is essentially 10% off. Oh, and it costs $6 to park for the duration of the cruise which is conveniently not mentioned in the propaganda. The dolphins are 40 - 50 yards off the boat, so it's not really an encounter per se.... More

Did not go in the water at all. Did not stop at the island. Saw only one or two dolphins from very far away. They cancelled our trip last minute and rescheduled for later in the afternoon, lucky we didn't have plans, or maybe unlucky, we could have just got our money back!

I couldn't believe that I paid 21$ for an amazing trip like this one. The staff treated us so well, my parents felt very welcomed and told that this was their best trip in the USA so far. Including all beaches in Florida. I highly recommend this company as they make your day with the extra courteous attitude and go... More

I was a little surprised the name is "Encounters with Dolphins" since the dolphins were quite far away. We saw a few fins poke out of the water pretty far away, and they counted that as an "encounter". Little Toot (nearby) has dolphins jumping and playing right in the wake almost within reach, so that boat makes this one look... More

This boat does not go into the Gulf, where there are more dolphins. We only saw a couple dolphins swimming, not jumping. On the "Little Toot" boat, they go out into the Gulf and you really see the dolphins up close and jumping. Also, this tour stops at a little "island" that just looks like a pile of sand in... More
