Small, modern, well organized museum showcasing the fascinating Seminoles. Good 18-minute introductory video, and lots of displays that illustrate Seminole culture and lifestyle. I would have liked more historical detail about arguably the most fascinating Indian tribe in North America, and I find it curious that no mention is made of the African-American members of the Seminole Nation. There is... More

This museum does an excellent job of representing the Seminole Tribe, and for anyone truly interested in their history and culture then it's somewhat isolated location should not be a deterrent to visiting! This latest visit was my second and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The starting point is a short film explaining the Seminole's past, present and future then there are the... More

Beautifully designed and informative museum! There is a 20 minute orientation video to start your tour -- this provides a great overview of Seminole history and contemporary life. The exhibits showcase historic daily life and culture of the unconquered Seminole Tribe. A mile-long boardwalk through the vibrant Everglades forest provides an enriching learning experience behind the museum. The gift shop... More

This is my 2nd visit to the Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum and this time I brought family from Canada. The displays of Seminole bead work and patchwork are especially exquisite. This museum is so well done that one can spend several hours viewing the exhibits, then enjoy the surrounding Everglades. I have worked 20+ years in archives/museums - Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum is one... It's quiet a drive from Cape Coral to Seminole reservation through Hell's Kitchen but worth if in the end. Very large car park then a walk over a Gator pond into the museum. $10 entrance fee then a short film on the history of the local Seminole Indians who migrated here from Georgia & neighboring states. After the film an... More

I'm usually not a fan of museums. Our group of 14 (from all over America) had 1.5 hours to spend at this museum. None of us were able to complete it. The legions slide show, (how the children were taught) was my favorite. The displays were excellent. Located about 2 miles east of Billie's Swamp Safari, this museum is the... More

We very much enjoyed our visit to the museum. The introductory film and the exhibits are very good and informative about the Seminole history. There is a one mile boardwalk through the forest which is quite nice. It is a somewhat long drive from the coastal cities but worth the time.

We spent the day in the Clewiston area and visited the Seminole Indian Reservation about 45 minutes south in the Everglades. While there we stopped in at the Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum and had a wonderful visit. Staff were accommodating and made us feel welcome. The main building is beautiful and inviting. Lots of large full scale dioramas of Seminole Indian life... More

A beautiful group of quality manikins with the traditional "dresses" for the men and a long history of specialty bead making in the heart of the Everglades- overviews, lectures, and a 1 mile boardwalk through the Cypress. Easy to spend a couple of hours, plus a nice museum shop with lots of hand made silver and beaded items.
