Both my husband and myself found ourselves engrossed by the great collection of newspaper articles and artefacts. William Bligh planted the first Tasmanian apple tree and grapevine! Who knew Bruny Island played such an important role in Australia's history?

There is only a small but interesting collection of historic items from the region but if you want to research family on Bruny Island the local volunteer staff are willing to help. Free entry.

Well worth a look. Photos, maps and much information. So much work has been done behind the scenes to put this "little" room together.

Small but packed with local history. Only open Post Office hours but it is free and worth a little bit of your time.
