There are already so many fine reviews about the Morikami Museum and gardens that I have little to add except for the pictures, which I'm attaching. I will say that I agree with Worldtraveler247247 in that the place is somewhat run down, but I do not hold the site entirely responsible-- we visitors have to own some of the blame.... More

We took some friends who were in town for a few days here for a few hours. It proves that besides our great beach and Atlantic Ave restaurants, Delray has a beautiful and unique park & gardens that should be included when visiting the area.

George Sukaji Morikami donated his land to Palm Beach County with his wish for the land to become a park to serve the memory of the Yamato Colony. Mr. Morikami was among a group of young Japnese farmers who came to Boca Raton from Japan & formed an agricultural colony called Yamato (ancient name for Japan). Today was the perfect... More

The gardens are very attractive and well maintained. When we visited the island was closed for maintenance, so we'll have to come back for that. The origami on display in the museum was incredible. It's a small museum, but had some fascinating works of art. We were fortunate to see an iquana cross our path, hop on a tree and... More

I stopped in to visit the Gardens on my last day visiting family in WPB. The grounds are very beautiful and peaceful, with a lot of interesting things to see. There are many iguanas of different sizes and colors roaming around, and in the trees too. They sell feed at the entrance which you can drop into the water to... More

A nice little getaway in the middle of busy southern Florida. The Morakami Museum is a memorial to the pioneering Japanese who tried to develop a farming community here. Sadly, their efforts failed, and the only rememberance of their presence is the museum and nearby Yamoto Blvd. The gardens are pleasant to walk around, and in the center is a... More

Although small in size the the sheer volume of items on display are both beautiful and varied. The quiet gardens are very relaxing

I last visited the gardens in 2012 and found them to be beautifully kept and true to Japanese landscaping. However yesterday I found them to be poorly kept, very run down and a major part (the island) closed. Apparently the garden is now being run as a Park amenity rather than as a private Japanese garden - and it shows.... More

Great gardens and very educational visit. Gardens have wonderful walking trails and exhibits. The restaurant and gift ship are very good Reservations suggested. This is a great visit for residents and tourists. Repeat visits are great.
