Was not sure if I wanted to visit but am glad I took the time. Not a big museum but very well presented with good exhibits and several more in process. Fishermen will really enjoy as there are lots of pictures of local catches and info on area fishing history. Entrance fee very reasonable, with senior rates available. They also... More

This is a small authentic museum with staff who have personal ties to the historic families of Destin. Well worth the admission for an hour just to better understand the community spirit and history of Destin.

My wife and I spent a couple hours at this museum. Very well worth the time we spent to learn more about the region and it's importance in the fishing industry. Well presented and informative.

There is so much history and this museum, it is hard to know where to begin. Form the knowledge of the staff, to the antiquities. You forget when you drive up and down HWY 98 how much history this little town has to offer. Make sure you place this on your to do list.

As a Destin area native, I could not be more pleased with the museum. It displays local history and items unique to this area. Visiting the museum shows how a small fishing village grew into a major tourist attraction. Don't miss this unique history of the old Florida!

Visited the museum with friends, one an avid angler. Museum is small, but full of specimans caught in the area. Beautiful fish!! Lots of interesting items. Museum docent very informative, gave us brief history of the island, explained the topography of the area and why fishing became so important, explained why the sugar sand is so fine and white. There... More

This small museum is about the history of Destin and the history of the fishing that made Destin. This is a must visit. The ladies that tell you about the history of the fishing are amazing. They told us about how Destin started, about the exhibits of the fishing boats and fish, and about the fishing Rodeo in October. WOW... More

We visited here for the first time after living in the area for 10 years. I found it to be very interesting with many great exhibits and some very big fish. Admission is 4 or 5 dollars.

Go with your thinking cap on. So much to learn, and the staff is incredibly knowledged of local history. Loved it. Small and quaint. And, the walk through the old Post Office was charming.
