Our tour guide, Jesse, was one of the best we've ever had. He knew his subject matter, tied history to current times, and used humor and wit to entertain while educating. We hope this treasure continues to be protected forever. Also, we hope the Patten...More

We stopped here on our family vacation on April 2. This is a pre civil war mansion built in the early 1800s. The layout of the rooms from this era is nothing like what is done now. The rooms are as wide as the home...More

On arrival we met a long lineup of junior school children (a good thing - five buses worth) so returned later in the day for our guided tour of the old Gamble mansion. While generally interesting, it was limited in scope and nothing was operational....More

Ranger Jesse is a great tour guide. He has so much knowledge about the plantation and the families who lived there. Very interested and exceeded expectations. It’s about a 40 minute tour and very informative. Would recommend this if you’re in the area.

Ranger Jesse made the history of the mansion come alive. Very informative and entertaining! Place is well maintained with furniture true to the period.

Interesting tour of a 1830s plantation home. Museum prepared you for the tour. Good insight as to how people lived on the Florida frontier.
