This half day safari was excellent! Our guide, Mark was exceptional and very knowledgeable. Kenny, the airboat guide was exceptional as well. Very well organized and communication was superb. I would highly recommend this tour.

Our leader, Heidi, was so informative and a delight to spend the day with. The day was well organized and efficient. Be prepared for the fan boat-tons of plants, birds and reptiles but very loud. The headsets help.

We recently spent an amazing day with Everglades Day Safari. Heidi, our guide, has a deep and abiding love for the Everglades, and she was very enthusiastic in sharing her knowledge with us. We were impressed with her powers of observation (particularly when she alerted us to a small black snake curled up in the foliage), and how quickly she could identify any species of bird. After an invigorating morning hike, we had an excellent lunch at the Island Café in Everglade City, after which we had a sneak peak at droves of alligators relaxing near a back highway. Dolphins followed us during our first boat ride, coming almost close enough to touch. We ended with an airboat ride through beautifully swampy Lake Trafford, where we encountered many alligators enjoying the sunny weather. We’ve had fun seeing the reaction of our family and friends to the videos we’ve sent them (Oooh! for the dolphins, Aargh! For the alligators), and we would unconditionally recommend this Day Safari to anyone visiting southern Florida.

What an adventure. Mark, our tour guide, was extremely knowledgeable, and energetic. We booked the all day tour which includes pick up, drop off, drive to the Everglades, an airboat tour, a nature walk, lunch included ( great food), then a pontoon boat ride thru the Gulf of Mexico. We saw alligators, turtles, snakes, many different species of birds, dolphins, fish etc. it’s a long day, but we’ll worth the adventure and the time spent in nature. Highly recommend

Our guide was great and went over and beyond to provide us information and ensure we experienced all we could with the nature on this trip. Saw lots of alligators, birds and even dolphin. The van drive, hike and boat rides allowed us to see see nature from all angles and learn more about the uniqueness of the Everglades. Highly recommend

Alligators aren’t the only attraction. The water fowl and the habitats are gorgeous. The boat rides are something that our kids will remember for life. Our guide was very knowledgeable and a pleasure to talk with. All of that combined with beautiful weather made for a fantastic experience!

Our guide was knowledgeable when it came to birds. He was however, too forthcoming when it came to discussing his personal thoughts regarding certain types of people that made for a very uneasy tour. I also think he talked more about Africa than the everglades.

Hi Mary,
This is disheartening. I apologize that you had this experience. Our biologist/guides are trained to provide science-based information regarding Florida's natural ecosystems and to never include political or social commentary and opinions. While we all have unique backgrounds that come into discussions during the tour, the focus should overwhelmingly be regarding the Everglades. I will speak to that guide and make sure this never happens again. I offer my sincerest apologies and hope you give us another opportunity in the future with one of our our other fantastic guides.

We think Heidi is awesome too! Thank you for the 5-star review and I appreciate you pointing out that she's good with kids because so many people think so. I agree!

What are the cost for a 2 year old and 4 month old? Traveling with 2 adults and 9 year old?

There is no additional cost for a two year old or a four month old child. The cost for a nine year old is $145.00 and adults pay $165.00 each. My wife and I truly enjoyed the trip and thought that it was well worth the cost.

Can someone explain the difference between the $80 and $165 tour options?

The $80 cost is for a half day trip- I believe 4 hours. I think there is some reptile show included w/ the 4 hr. trip. People we talked to all said to pass on the show. The $165 price is for 8+ hours, which includes a nature walk, 2 different boat rides, a van tour where you can see lots of gators/birds, and lunch is included in the price. Well worth the cost.

How much walking involved during the tour? My mother has a bad knee. Thanks!

Most of the excursions involved stepping on and off the bus and walking to the boats and into the restaurant. The nature walk is 1.6 miles roundtrip. A portion is on a crushed shell trail and the majority is on a boardwalk.

This ecotour is guided by a trained naturalist and takes you to the four main ecosystems of the Everglades. You experience an airboat ride on the "river of grass", and nature walk in Big Cypress National Preserve, a wildlife drive and a mangrove wilderness boy tour in the park. You will see gators, a variety of bird species possibly dolphins and so much more. Lunch with alligator is also included.

I apologize for the late response. We provide pickups near Sanibel, Fort Myers Beach, Fort Myers, Estero, Naples, Fort Lauderdale Beach, Davie and Weston. There is a link to our pickups on the map page of our website. I believe International Drive is in Orlando which is about 3.5 hours from Fort Lauderdale and Fort Myers. Full day tours are for ages 5 and up.

There are multiple pickup locations on their website (look for the map link. Also, blame Trip Advisor's silly policies for not allowing me to include a link). We got picked up at the Residence Inn because we were in Sanibel, and it was closest to the bridge.
