It is a sight to see. Go in the cold weather. The Manatees go up next to the outlet of warm water from the power plant. They are the most joyous mameles I have ever seen. They play together and just have fun lumbering around...More

We have visited here a number of times and the best is when the weather is bad. It is located in the outfall of a power plant and, when the weather is cool the manatees come to stay warm. On a nice day they will...More

A fun place to see Manatee during the winter months but very crowded if they are there. Informative video tells you all about them. Nice trails and gardens. You can also rent canoes and kayaks.

Great way to see these gentle giants close up. But you must be there before the water in the Gulf warms up or they will all be gone from the river.

The park has the feel of an outdated "mom and pop" operation and their website is terrible. However, there is nice path and boardwalk and even though it wasn't the "busy season" we did a number of manatees both close to the visitor center and...More

The Manatees are such a treat to see year after year. The grounds are nice to walk around in, there is a gift shop. I like to go down by the river and see if there are any gators around.

Easy to find, right off Main road. Parking needs to be fixed, seriously not fun parking in grass. Great time other than that. Watching the Manatee was cool. They're so neat, during the winter us the best time. Good family time

Go early to rent a kayak there. We kayaked out thru the overhanging trees to the river where the Manatees come in the winter since the water is warm there from a near by power plant. Best day ever! I highly recommend it!

Everyone should see manatees at least once if you are in this area. They are slow moving and living in groups it seems.

In June you will Not see the manatees. It is still a nice place to see the butterfly gardens, kayak, take a limited walk, see the tiki hut, or to have kids play on the play ground, but manatees are only there when it is cold... More

I believe they have both kayaks and canoes on site that you can rent and go out among the manatees. Not sure if this is suitable for this parent's daughter, but it may be worth looking into.

Yes, you can see the manatees in January. The park has no cost except to park or rent kayaks. A volunteer gives tours free. If they aren't available you can see the manatees & enjoy the experience without their explanations... More
