Lovely part of the Island but not midday on as it gets far to hot . The State Park is a real credit to the Island. There's barbeque's there and showers for travellers.

We went on a day that it was cold and windy. A day you didn't want to lay on the beach, but still wanted to enjoy being outdoors. The shuttle takes you right down to the beach if you don't want to walk the half...More

Lovers Key is consistently a favorite. In off season, it is not crowded, parking is plentiful, and it is easily accessible. And a great spot for sunsets of course!

Visited today, July 31st, and loved it. Not crowded, warm, clean water, lots of shells, friendly staff. Worth the short, easy drive from fort Myers beach. Worth the 8 dollar admittance fee. Will go back again this week before heading back to KY!

There are two public beaches at lovers key and the one that is most popular can be accessed by a tram that leaves from the main station in the park. Also, manatees in the fresh water estuaries!

The beach should not be crowded at that time. It is a long walk, so using the tram would be recommended. Contact the park to inquire how long they run; hopefully it will be until sunset. There is a large gazebo that could... More
