2018 is Kanapaha’s 30th anniversary and they have accomplished much in the way of master planning and design. There seems to be a layer of decay, but judging from the work being done there are at least some funds for upkeep. Planting’s didn’t seem as...More

I’ve visited many times. We really enjoy the festivals. We had a great family photo taken there. Interesting bamboo and palms. I wish it was better funded so it had more plants. Very nice building and gift shop.

I attended UF in the mid-1980s. My BFF during this time was the resident caretaker at Kanapaha Botanical Gardens - she lived in a trailer on site and had a gaggle of geese as watchdogs! It was lovely back then, but a bit underdeveloped. Thirty...More

Walking through and seeing so much variety in plants was a great morning walk. It's obvious that so much has been put into the gardens, I truly appreciate the time and attention, since I have a black thumb vs. the green thumb. Gorgeous.

Yes, on a leash. We take our dog each time we go. We always take a bag in case she poops, and we watch for alligators near the water. It is a great place to walk dogs!

As others have said, it does have a minimal entrance fee that I felt was well worth it If you're into photography, especially macro photography, this place is a gold mine
