We stopped in about an hour before they were scheduled to close. They had quite a bit of good information and exhibits regarding Florida Natural History. The butterflies were a lot of fun too!

We enjoy the museum and return periodically to spend a couple of hours enjoying the exhibits - fossils, early people of the area, butterfly exhibits (free and apart from the Butterfly Rainforest exhibit), FL waterways and wildlife... So much to see.

This is a fine museum for a small city. It cannot compare to the big city museums if that is what you are used to, but a fine place to spend a couple of hours. It usually has a visiting featured display along with the...More

I hadn't visited this museum in more than 20 years and I was pleased and disappointed at the same time. I primarily was interested in viewing the recreated murals of Bonampak. I remember this from years ago as being a true replica of the famous...More

Enjoyed visiting the museum. Very nice particularly for kids. Butterflies particularly interesting. Be sure to go next door to the art museum for the cafe located there.

The Butterfly Rainforest and scientific viewing area of the Rearing Lab were the highlight of our trip to the museum. We stayed so long at the butterfly exhibit that we only partially saw the museum. Will come back again to see more and to revisit...More

At first glance, the Butterfly area is not that large. However, just stop & look around - you'll be amazed at what is crammed into this space! A great variety of plants & butterflies, with some birds thrown in for good measure.

Would be a great stop for younger children, we went through it very quickly. It was good, but was hoping for more. Would be great for families!

The museum of history was very informative. The admission is free with the exception of the live butterfly building and special exhibits. They provide history from Indians to prehistoric skeletons. The outside of the butterfly building has the largest collection of dead butterflies. It respectfully...More

As a group leader for 14 seniors, I was impressed with the depth of knowledge and passion of the docents interpreting the cultural and natural history of Florida. The exhibits are extraordinarily well designed and appropriately interactive. One needs to visit more than once to...More
