unique animals

The assortment of birds making unique sounds was interesting. Cookabara song came to mind. Don't like snakes, not many large animals.

Thank you for your review of the Teaching Zoo. We are open to the public everyday, but the main focus of our Zoo is to train students to become Zookeepers. You won't see lions, tigers or bears here because it is safer for students to train with animals like birds and reptiles. We have two different kinds of small cats;... More

We visited the Santa Fe Teaching Zoo while on Spring Break and were very impressed. The zoo was the perfect size for our morning (2 hour) visit. The exhibits are large enough that the animals don't look cramped, but are small enough that you can get a close look at them. They have a good variety of animals (including a... More

A great place to spend a couple of hours viewing and learning about various animals. Exhibits are well laid out in a wooded area and connected by paths. Animals seem well cared for with plenty of student help. Students also lead groups and explain about the animals.

So happy we finally made it here. A lovely little zoo with lots of nice shady habitats. We saw some animals here that we hadn't seen anywhere else, like the tree kangaroo, caracal and oscelots.

The Santa Fe teaching zoo is a wonderful little zoo that's fun for all ages and is perfect for a 1-2 hour excursion with the family. Even during winter break, the zoo wasn't crowded at all and almost all of the animals were out and about in their exhibits. The center of the park has picnic benches for adults and... More

My nephew was a student here so he took us on a little tour. This is a fantastic program and one of a kind. The zoo, while small, makes for a delightful visit. Well worth the trip.

The Santa Fe College Teaching Zoo is a great opportunity to see some really unique and gorgeous animals. It is slightly smaller than a traditional zoo, but it packs a lot of excitement into each of its exhibits.
