This is our favorite park to hike and bring our dogs. Park is clean with plenty of trees for shade. Beautiful view of the gulf.

Beautiful nature trails to stroll along. Perfect for people of all ages as it is not too strenuous. You could swim from one of the beaches. A great lookout to peer out on to the Gulf.

An off the beaten path park which has a good balance between natural and managed. The trails are wide and well maintained (although poorly signed), but the park is very ‘natural’. We walked the main trail alongside Rocky Creek down to the Gulf and climbed the lookout tower for super views. Other than birds and fish there wasn’t much wildlife about, but the highlight was coming across a Gopher Tortoise wandering along the trail. A good little park for an hour’s nature walk with ocean views.

Me and my dad and his wife use to come here all the time. It is like a home away from home to me. I may not have my dad but at least i still have this place.

Pine forests, flatwoods, marshes, and VISTAs ! Plenty of trails to avoid any intersections ( although only an occasional dog walker). The undergrowth is cleared back enough so that you get a great horizon through the trees. Keep walking, though, and you'll splish-splash through the marshes with plenty of birds and fish among the new growth. Hang around, though for the ultimate end to a Florida day- west coast sunset. ( If you're there at dusk, bring bug repellent) . Restrooms, water, and picnic tables also available.

As we were staying locally and fancied a walk Key Vista looked like the nearest place to go. We walked for about an hour on a circular route which took us past the local waterways. Unfortunately no Manatees, highlights were a large tortoise a Massive birds nest (we couldn’t establish what bird), a couple of tiny black snakes and lots of fish jumping.
So nature wise not brilliant, however we enjoyed the pine and palm tree forest and large lookout tower and managed to get away before the thunderstorms hit..!!!

Lots of good trails AND....one of them takes you directly to the Gulf of Mexico!! Shuffle your feet if you get in though, there are stingrays in the water.

We arrived at 5:30pm and signs said the park closed at 6:30. It was just the right amount of time to walk all of the trails in the park, climb the observation tower, take the trail and boardwalk to Anclote Gulf Park and get in a quick tour of that park. The first section wasn’t very pretty. It looked like it had been ravaged by pine beetles. The rest was nice. It was feeding time and we saw lots of wading birds. There was little signage, but we managed. The trail to the other park started at the boardwalk and ran west along the water. We’ll return to Key Vista to walk for exercise.
