Spiegel Grove

This was a great dive. We double dipped this wreck. The seas were fairly calm and there was only a slight current. The wreck was easy to navigate.

Great dive site. Love the large American flag still flying atop the mast. It is a deep dive and best experienced with a guide to show you the unique swim throughs.

This was an OK trip, but going to 90-110 ft with only a 80 cft tank doesn't leave you much bottom time or margin for error under any circumstances. Should be mandatory with 100 cft tanks with Nitrox 32 or more.

The first impression of the Spiegel Grove is that it is a huge wreck which means that it would take many dives to see the whole ship. We dove the crane are and bow at about 95 feet during two different dives and they were both great. There is a lot to see but the dives need to be well... More

I am not a wreck diver. The only reason I go to wrecks is because they usually have interesting life around them. I was wowed by the Spiegel Grove. A mammoth 510 foot long ship rising up from 140 feet deep in the ocean, the Spiegel Grove is an impressive wreck for the advanced diver. There are numerous swim throughs... More

We dove the Spiegel at least 6 times. It's so big that you need numerous dives to see enough of it. There is a lot of marine life to see and you can penetrate the wreck at some points, but make sure you know what you're doing before you do. There is just as much to see without going down... More

This wreck is AWESOME in good or poor vis. If you want to really be a dweeb, try to snag one of the waterproof wreck cards from a dive shop and take it down with you. Super handy.

The Speigel Grove is an awesome experience. I'd recommend it to anyone but would also say you should have a local or experienced diver with you.
