In 2012 the iconic boat the African Queen was restored for her 100 year centennial celebration. In May 2012 she once again began plying the waters of Key Largo and currently offers canal and dinner cruises. We go out daily at 10am, 12am, 2pm, 4pm and 6pm. On Fridays and Saturdays at 6pm we offer a dinner cruise to the Pilot House Marina where passengers disembark and enjoy dinner in the restaurant before boarding the vessel once again to return to the Marina Del Mar. Dinner and lunch cruises are also available on request for groups of at least 4 people.

I booked a trip based on the authentic videos, brochures and web sites promoting authentic steam power. I was given a 1 hour boat road powered by a 15 hp outboard. They claim that the steam boiler broke the night before, but locals advised me that it's the worst tourist trap on Key Largo. The steam has not been fired... More

We were looking to do something different and this fit the bill. The original African Queen boat refurbished. We took the 5:30pm cruise through a boat dock canal, we were lucky to catch a glimpse of a manatee, we saw a beautiful sunset and it took us to a very cool dockside restaurant that had a glass bottom bar, dinner... We were on our way out to Key West and didn't have time to take a cruise on the African Queen, but this bit of history just sitting along the roadway was too much to pass up. If you're a fan of the movie, or just curious about the history, it's well worth a stop. The boat is just off... More

It was one for the record books...to ride down the canals in the African Queen was big fun. The captain was very knowledgeable regarding the history of the boat and surrounding area.

To learn of the globe trotting actually by the boat itself before ending up in Key Largo was Fascinating! The trip itself was an adventure in seeing how some of the "other half" live.

Captain Mike, did a wonderful job! We ended up being the only 2 people on the 4PM cruise, lucky us! They start out with a history of the boat, where it started, where it traveled to, who owned it, then they go into a pictorial of the boat and the movie, lots of trivia and factoids. The boat is on... More

We re-watched the movie a few days before the cruise. I suggest doing that. We brought a bottle of wine on board. 2 couples total on board. Brian, our captain and Humphrey Bogart substitute, was great with a lot of fun facts about the boats history. We cruised very slowly as the original boat did. We went to the Pilot... More

I love the movie, so it was exciting to be on the original African Queen, with it's steam engine chugging along the canal. Everything on it has been replaced over the years, but it is still the original boat.

We did this as a last minute choice. It was great, just like in the movie. Our guide Brian made the trip great. New the history and explained how the Queen came to its current state. Well worth the time and money.

Captain John did a wonderful job on this cruise. We got out in open waters and I even got to help steer the boat, which was a lot of fun. The boat is beautiful and so was the sunset. A must do and it is only a couple of hours.
