Really clean and well kept beach at this small national park. Food available (though unlikely to win any awards) and parasols/ loungers, though expensive at $30 for two loungers. The fort is worth visiting too.

A very nice park with a great beach, nice views and its away from the frenzy of Duval Street. I highly recommend the guided tour of the Fort, it's only given one a day at 1100 and is very much worth the time.

The breeze coming off the water saved the experience for us. It was a hot day but there were plenty of places to step in to the shade and cool off. The walk through the woods was nice and the self directed tour was fun.

Key West is probably best know for the Duval Street Bar/Restaurant Scene and watching the sun set over the gulf of Mexico at Mallory Square, but there is some great US history in Key West as well. One of those gems is Fort Zachary Taylor...More

We are here for a month so did not walk from the cruise dock. It is walkable from there but I might suggest in your situation to consider riding on the Trolley tour which does make a stop at the gate of the State Park. In... More
