The four in our group went there on March 1. On the way there, you have to go through construction. However, don't let that stop you. It is a wonderful place for a picnic, great beach and watching all the activity on the water. Shade or sun is available. I would recommend going there and taking your lunch. Very relaxing.... More

This is on of the best beaches in Key West. It has a big swimming area, refreshment stand, place to rent umbrelas, a picnic area with tables. There are also palm trees that line the back of the beach so it is possible to find some shade. Three is an admission charge, but worth it.

Unfortunately arrived too late to do any of the tours for the fort, the ship or the marine life research building. However the beach was really nice, as the water was clear and the beach was rather clean. Fair warning there are quite a few areas where rock is mixed in with the sand. There are also chairs and umbrellas... More

This state park (entrance $2.50) comprises two parts: the fort, which is of average interest to wander around on, and the beach area, which we thought was the nicest in Key West. Shady trees go right up to the sand, which is great for parties with people who prefer shade. It had been super windy for several days before I... More

Do not miss it. This is where the real southern point. Very nice calm beach. It has open standing shower and clean rest room. Lots of parking spots, picnic tables with bbq grill.

My husband and I live in the keys and have been to the park twice when we have had people in town. Does not get old or boring and it helps if you have the yearly state park pass!!

The ocean was absolutely beautiful. Turquoise ,blue and green water. The beach itself was a little rocky but the water is well worth it. The historic fort is interesting to see also.

Nothing great to see here, but not bad stop if you are walking around. Some shade to be had on a hot day.
