It was interesting to see along the way to Key West. Wonder if it survived the hurricane, there were people fishing off of it in places and also saw small boats underneath it fishing.

I think this is a wonderful drive. I always flew into Key West, but the past 2 trips I have opted to drive. I love the scenic, laid back feel of the trip. Avoid the busy rush hour or weekend times if you can. Stop...More

Drive slow and enjoy the views. This is one of the best drives in the world. There are a lot of places to pull over and visit along the way. I recommend taking the kids iPads and phones away for the drive. Be prepared for...More

As you drive from the end of mainland Florida into the Keys and head all the way out to Key West, there is a neverending supply of views of wonder and fun places to stop and have a bite, a drink, and a seat to...More

This is one of the most scenic stretches out there. Very cool to look at the abandoned 7 mile bridge to the north. I went over the old one as a kid...much scarier than the great highway we have now.

I just had to do this once in my life. I loved all of the views of the water and the fact that I was driving from island to island to reach Key West. It is a long drive, but the roads were in really...More

Parts of this road are only about 3 feet above the water. The 8 mile bridge is stunning. The Honda Park is worth a trip, as is the walk up to the old Flagler bridge. Many sharks in the water there

Plenty to see, a road trip worth taking. Enjoy the views. Didn't make any stops. May do next time. A favorite.

We drove Route 1 from Miami to Key west in a rented convertible Mustang, because why wouldn't you do that? For many visitors to FL, I suspect Orlando is central to what they do and see. They miss out on so much. The 110 mile...More

Mainly an easy drive with so many views that if you stop for each one you will never make to the Key's! The drive is also filled with gift shops and fine restaurants. 7 mile bridge is also a fun drive. Make sure you know...More

John Pennecamp State Beach is great with lots of options. Check its reviews. There is an entrance fee, but lots of parking, sand for sunbathing, multiple beaches. They have rentals for snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding... More
