If you use this vendor ensure that you have your own equipment. I did not have my equipment and had to use theirs. Problems with the equipment ruined my 2nd dive. Staff was great though.

We just returned from KW and the big thing we did was went on a 2 dive scuba day outing. Me, total newbie, hubby, had gone before. Pool instruction in the morning with Justin and we were lucky enough to get him again on the boat! Good thing because even with the good instruction I had issues and ended up snorkeling instead. Hubby had 2 excellent dives, even seeing an eel the first dive! Justin was so patient with me and helped me successfully make a dive the 2nd time, even if it was for just a little bit before I couldn't stand the dry mouth anymore. I highly suggest Southpoint Divers. Really nice guys and they know what they are doing.

We were a family of four - 2 divers needing the refresh course along with the two-tank dives and 2 snorkelers for the boat ride. A couple of weeks ahead of our arrival in Key West, we made arrangements for our divers to complete the refresher course and dives in one day. On our drive to Key West, we got a call from Southpoint that they would not be going into the water Monday (our scheduled day) or Tuesday due to Hurricane Elsa. So we were pushed to Wednesday and we moved another activity to Friday morning. Our divers completed the in-pool refresher course at the Marker Hotel Wednesday morning. We showed up at their dive shop in the afternoon to check-in and were told that the dive was canceled because the water conditions were not worth diving in. It was nice of the group that they did not continue the trip regardless. It was unfortunate that someone dropped the ball and we did not receive any notification about the canceled dive earlier in the day. Had we received notice, it would have saved us a drive across the island and allowed us to rearrange our plans. However, they were able to accommodate us on the Friday afternoon dive. After checking in at the shop we headed to the dock, which you have to walk through the Hyatt Centric’s pool area to reach. When we boarded The Phoenix, we all felt comfortable around our competent crew: Arden, Alex, Drew, and Tropical Mike. They ran a tight ship and were still fun while supervising and guiding all 20 of us tourists. We were glad we waited until Friday afternoon to go out in the water because even with that many days after the storm, the water was still a bit murky but we managed to see a lot. And fortunately there were many coral heads close to the surface, so even the snorkelers got to see much more than expected. While there were inconveniences, primarily due to the weather, we were happy with the outcome of our afternoon on the Phoenix.
