I've read many of his books and books about his life, so I was excited to visit. The tour was an excellent explanation about him and his life - the good, the cats, the wives, the mental illness, alcohol and his realities.

Tours are narrated by local folk and are quite educational. Tour is not handi-cap friendly. Lots of information to learn here about a great American author. Caution! Entrance fee is only paid by cash--no credit cards accepted. Tour took about 45 minutes. If you are allergic to cats, stay away, as there are close to 60 cats roaming around the... More

A really interesting place to visit. $13/ adult entry includes a great guide who tells you some of the stories of Hilemmingway's life, the original derringdo hero. If something was going on in the first half of the 20th century, then EW was there to experience it & write about it, probably with one of his current or future wives!... More

I remember reading Old Man and the Sea in high school and was always interested to know more about Ernest Hemingway. The tour of this home was quite enlightening into the life this man led! I would recommend a visit

Tourist factory. Meager furnishings. Not much to it. Tour guides give good personal stories but run you in and out for the next group.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. For all the guests who visit, the experience is different for each person. Some come with expectations of gaining literary insight, some come to experience the beautiful architecture of the limestone buildings built in 1849-51, some to just sit and meditate in the lush tropical gardens, some come just for... The tour was nice but it was very average. Not sure what to expect from Historical house other than what we saw. It wasn't bad was it good. $26 a little pricey.

I visited the Hemingway home in August on a trip to Key West with my Dad. Our tour guide was a lady with long brown hair who was so entertaining and funny, she had a great way of telling stories about Mr Heminway and his love interests (there were many). There are at least 50 cats who live on the... More
