Our second visit and we are still learning interesting info on an interesting guy! The tour guide was so knowledgeable and entertaining. Love the cats laying and strolling around, all have names and live there. You can stay as long as you like after the tour, have another look around! I would go again on another key west visit!

As an American novelist! this was a great experience to see the home of a famous author. To imagine his literary style was influenced by this area. It motivated me to go home and refresh my reading of "The old man the sea, The have and have nots, and For whom the bells toes, to name a few. Many cats... More

This tour was great. Beautiful home and very interesting history of the area and of Hemingway. Our tour guide was funny and informative. Reasonably priced and well worth the 30 min guided tour.

This was a very interesting look into the life of Hemingway. Our tour guide gave an in-depth history of Hemingway, his family, and his many cats. After the house source were given a tour of the gardens which we then explored ourselves.

Thank you very much for your excellent 5-star review! As a native of England, you may know that Ernest Hemingway met his wife Mary in London while she was working for Time magazine. It is great to have that connection with your great country through the life and times of Hemingway. Everything you ever wanted to know about the Hemingway... More

This was a great little property to stop off and see. Nice that you could take your own tour or do a self guided tour. The property is pretty and we loved all the cats roaming around as well.

Biggest tourist trap on the island. The website said $13 and then it was $14 at the door--cash only. The line and tour management was less than optimal, so we cruised around the house ourselves. I am a communications consultant who has read the Hemingway canon, and I hate pretentious guides. Instead, my husband and I sat by the "infamous"... More

Sure it's nice to envision Ernest Hemingway working on his latest book or story at this beautiful mansion, but you've got to love the 50+ cats which populate the place these days, many of them with six toes and the large feet that entails. Our tour guide claimed to know every one of them by name, and demonstrated his knowledge... More

The tour was quite interesting and it provided a lot of information concerning the original construction and first owner of the property; the purchase by Hemingway; the construction of the swimming pool by Hemingway and his use of the property. The tour included the living room, dining room, Hemingway's bedroom, his study and his work room.

No idea so many of Hemingway's books were made into movies. Highly recommend taking the tour it will enrich your experience many times over. It's free and although the groups can get pretty big, the guides make sure all can see, here and keep up. The cats are a bonus. Even if you don't like cats particularly, you'll find them... More
