Great dive with Captain’s Locker
Jul 2021 • Couples
The Captain’s Locker guys really looked after us. We did a two-tank trip to the wreck which had decent visibility and, crucially, no current so we were able to swim from bow to stern and do some cool swim-throughs. The wreck itself is very cool and we saw some huge tarpon, a Goliath grouper, barracudas and several green morays. Special thanks to John for taking us round the wreck and grabbing some photos for us.

Fantastic wreck dive
May 2021
What an incredible dive experience! I dove this on air (21%), but could have been with Nitrox as the maximum depth we were taken was 100 feet to the top deck. There are numerous easy swim throughs on several areas of the ship. In order to experience the entire ship, it would take more than one dive. Captain's Corner offers a two tank dive with ample surface interval between dives so you can experience a couple different areas on the ship. There is some amazing marine life hanging around this artificial reef.

Amazing and well worth it

Dive was about 100 feet and worth every minute of it. Great experience and wreck was in great shape with tons of marine life.

Dived with Captain’s Corner
Dec 2020
Awesome trip with Captain Bradley Williams and crew with Captain’s Corner Dive Shop. Vandenberg was massive! Lots of marine life. We got down to a little below main deck. Would recommend hiring a dive guide looking back now. A ship this massive you want to get in as much as possible and it also helps because the guides will usually know where the hidden marine life is (octopus and moray eels). We did however see a big green moray eel and a lion fish as well as a lot of big barracudas and tropical fish.

Awesome Dive. A Must Do
Nov 2020
We had only 25-30 feet visibility but it was an awesome dive. Went with Southpoint Dives. The store staff and dive crew were excellent.

Make the effort to see this incredible ship and artificial reef. The ship has many safe areas to explore and many fish and corals to explore

Captain's Corner was a great charter to use
Oct 2020
We used Captain's Corner to visit the Vandenberg and it was such a great experience! Our guide, John, showed us the octopus that live on the different parts of the ship and the swim-thrus were very cool. Visibility was great once we got down to the wreck. The site was busy, but safe. We haven't been to a large wreck before this one and feel there is still so much more to see. We can't wait to dive it again on another trip!

Dive the wreck
Oct 2020
I went with southpoint divers and truly enjoyed it. It was not a hard dive but I imagine if the current was strong, it would be tough. Go and experience it.

interesting dive
Aug 2020
Interesting dive, with a wreak that is still intact. Only problem was we did the dive a day after 2 strong storms went through so the visibility was not very good

The Vandy dive site
Aug 2020
I live in Key West, so you could say I’m spoiled. But, I’ve been certified for 42 years, diving for 44, and the Vandenberg dive site will not disappoint! It’s a deep dive (all relative), approaching 50 feet, and you will clearly view the radar tower of the sunken ship. Continuing to descend the ship is huge, tons of marine life on the way down as well as ascending back. Barracudas, shark, sea turtles, grouper. Absolutely beautiful, and within the confines of the US. A must do for all certified divers with a buddy or two.
