The Vandenberg which has a history dating back to its days as a transport ship during WW II as well as during the Viet Nam conflict, in addition to being important to the USA as a satellite tracking ship during the Cold War, and then being the set for the movie "Virus," is an exciting dive a few miles out... I went out with Captain’s Corner for a double-dip on the Vandenberg the first week of January, and couldn’t have been more pleased with this fantastic dive that featured 80-foot visibility and an amazing 10-foot Hammerhead Shark swimming on the surface around our boat. This was my first outing with Captain’s Corner and first dive on the Vandenberg. There was... More

522 feet of unadulterated underwater Jungle-Gym, by far the best wreck i have ever dove. I am a PADI scuba instructor and could dive this wreck 100+ times and still see something new on every dive. Use SouthPoint Divers, they're amazing

If you are a Diver you cannot pass this up. It's a wonderful wreck dive experience. Please listen to your Dive Masters though and use the line from the boat to descend because the current out there can get rather crazy and you'd hate to ruin the trip for all the other divers if they had to stop the dive... I have been to the Vandenberg over 20 times now but i'm still finding new things. It has been cool to see it age! It is just so big I don't think you could ever be bored with it! Lots of tiny details to see and tons of well lit rooms to explore.

Really neat ship to explore. There's a bunch of swim throughs to explore and a lot of stuff on the deck to check out. I recommend spending the money on a guide if it's your first time diving it. Well worth it.

This is a huge and superb condition wreck that has been well prepared as a dive site - no nasty cables and snags, doors removed leaving good penetration and swim through dives. The bottom is 140' 45m but you don't need to go below 120' or around 35/40m to get some great diving in. Plenty of sea life including the... More

Lots of the dive operations closed on my 3 day trip due to swells of 4-6 feet. So I charted Keys Custom Fishing Charter, the captain was also my dive buddy. the fulfilled my dream to see some small part of this amazing dive. I will use them again and I will come back

Outstanding artificial reef! You will need multiple dives to see the entire ship. Visibility is dependent upon the currents. There are many swim throughs and the marine live is abundant. She rests at about 150' and the decks are about 90' and less. With a group dive you will get just about 30 minutes per dive. I went out with... More
