The garden club takes good care of this old fort. Lots of plants to see. I recommend an hour or at least 45 minutes to look around. Plenty of parking close by at Higgs beach.

We road bikes out to the prier and went up the beach a little ways to discover the old fortress that had been turned into a garden club with a free exhibit.

Free entrance, they work on donations, a must when passing by the beach, learn about the history of the remaining of the fortress, see all kinds of plants and enjoy the shade of the jungle

Ended up being one of our favorite things during our vacation. It was so peaceful! Shaded garden with ocean breeze felt like heaven after being under the sun all day. Very well maintained!
