We visited for our son's second birthday. This is the type of place that made Florida the great tourist state it is. Very old school and classic. Not crowded. Friendly staff members and cool exhibits. Very friendly and welcoming. It's not a huge park but worth it. Can't wait to come again!!

My wife and I bought general admission tickets. Having done the parks etc in Orlando in previous years, we found Theater of the Sea far less manic and on a more personal level. Parrot, Sea lion and Dolphin shows were great. Great place to wander around and sea the animals and fish. We didn't take any of the swim options... More

How is this the #1 attraction? Honestly, it is so outdated and lame. I respect that it is independently owned and operated, but come on, remodel! It is stuck in a time-warp from the 70-80's. Oh, and there's a stray cat sanctuary. Why? So weird. Go in with very low expectations. Very low.

Dear GoPeterson, First of all I would like to thank you for visiting our park while enjoying your vacation in the Florida Keys. I'm sorry to read that our park was not able to live up to your expectations. Our 17-acre facility does indeed feel old-school but charming compared with some of Florida's highly polished theme parks. Here in the... More

"Established in 1946 by the P.F. McKenney family, Theater of the Sea is one of the oldest marine mammal facilities in the world. The McKenney family still owns and operates the park today." This quaint little marine park turned out to be more than I expected. Although the admission seemed a bit pricy at first, the attractions and shows were,... More

Great place for animal enthusiasts of all ages (even my jaded husband loved it). Unlike most attractions of this sort, it's designed on an intimate scale, which allows you to observe all the animals at close range--turtles, fish, alligators, birds, sea lions, and, of course, dolphins. Fantastic animal demonstrations! Our favorite: the alligator who paints (sort of). We did a... More

We enjoyed our visit to the Theater of the Sea. It is a family friendly place that even allows dogs. The shows were entertaining. The employees are very nice and the atmosphere was pretty and tropical. They have a nice gift shop where we purchased a number of items. We have 2 teenage boys that took part in the meet... More
