It’s exactly what you’d expect. Still doing hurricane clean up when we were there but still nice. Nice bathrooms for a public beach. Cool lava type rock on the south end near the inlet.

We spent a couple of days at Sombrero Beach during our trip in early February. I'd read reviews about it being severely damaged during hurricane Irma and there was evidence of that. However, it is definitely still worth visiting. The beach is free, unlike those...More

Lovely little beach in Marathon. Soft sand and gorgeous turquoise water. Water is shallow at beach line great for wading. Hurricane Irma removed most of the dune and planting’s so the beach is actually quite wide. There is a playground, bathrooms and lots of free...More

If you have never been to the Keys let me start off by letting you know there is no plethora of sprawling white sandy beaches. If that is what you are looking for there are only a few exceptions in the Keys. Here at Sombrero...More

Quiet sandy beach. Not all of it is open due to the hurricane but they are continually upgrading. Restroom we clean and accessible.

Very nice beach with clean beach and bathrooms. Not to crowded but parking could be limited on busy days. No food or concessions so be sure to bring your own.

It was a bit cool for beach weather (for us, anyway; some northerners were sunbathing though), so we rented a kayak from Wheels2Go. They delivered the 2-person kayak to Sombrero Beach, and we kayaked through the fascinating mangrove areas of Boot Key.

One of the best beaches in the yes. The sand is super smooth and soft. There were even some waves like in Miami. Great family place.

They had very nice ones. Irma did a job on all of the beach facilities. Don’t know when things will be repaired and back to normal.

Yes most of the beach is covered in feet of sand, they have bulldozing to clean up but have a long way to go. There is a small area open now
