Absolutely the best place to bike, walk or blade. Miles and miles of paved trail along an old railway right-of-way. Much of the trail has separated bike lane from the walkers/runners. Grades that there are are gentle....except going up over.the trail overpasses over busy roads....More

I only went on part of this section of the trail. It was in good shape and the section seemed very safe and was easily accessible.

Define safely. You will have to leave the beach and head towards the mainland. That means you have to go over the causeway. If you are driving there it's no big deal. You can find parking and peddle wherever you want. Tip... More

I would suggest the website about the trail. It has a map of the trail with access points. Not sure what parks you want to ride to but this site will help. Have fun!!!!

My friends and I are looking at getting a hotel in St Pete and riding the Pinellas trail inn the south and around the downtown. Any suggestions on where to stay and what areas to make sure we include and if there are any areas to avoid. We would like to have a 20-25 mile bike ride for the day. Thanks for your help.
