It's certainly a trek to the actual beach area but what a lovely beach, leave them alone and you can watch the pelicans fishing the birds hunting the waters edge and I counted at least 4 turtle nests ( but please enjoy the fact you've...More

On Tigertail Beach, there awaits a smorgasbord of experiences. It's a Collier County Park so you pay for the privilege of visiting. If you go during off season, July and August, you might be fortunate enough to get a parking space up close and under...More

This is a wonderful shell laden wild beach great for a walk, a run, watching the birds or traditional beach activities. Parking is $8 a day and you can use the ticket down at south beach too. It's then a bit of a walk to...More

This is by far my favorite beach in Florida. It's almost never crowded and consists of a lush mangrove forest and a beautiful beach. Past a first little boardwalk is a large lagoon that you can either walk around or ford across. It's a long...More

The beach was beautiful but the walk there was ridiculous. Through a smelly bug infested swamp.dont waste your time. Go to south beach instead

First time to Marco Island so came to Tigertail Beach to check it out. You have to pay to park at the public access. If you park at the first lot you either have to wade through the lagoon or walk around it. If you...More

Took the family to Tigertail beach for the day. It was a really long walk to get there but it was beautiful. Make sure to bring your own supplies. And an umbrella would be a good idea.

Tiger tail beach is very scenic and a little less populated than Marco Islands other public beach. There is a lagoon in front of the beach so it's around a 15 minute walk to get to the beach. Anyone with mobility issues or very young...More

The beach is decent and there is a snack bar and restrooms nearby so your mom might enjoy that. When we were there (2/18/17) the water was mucky in the lagoon and once you stepped in it was more mud than sand. So if your... More

Will be staying on Marco Island in March 21-20. A few questions about Tiger tail beach parking and lagoon crossing. Are you able to park before 8 am? We will have but would like to have a few all day beach excursion would like to drive in order bring our beach gear( chair, cooler ect..) The "crossing". I am not a big fan of walking in water above my waist. So I do have a reservation in crossing the lagoon. ( I have watched videos) But at the same time I would like to experience crossing the lagoon in order to get the full unique experience of our visit. So I have a few questions. Are their any dangers in crossing the lagoon. Is there any risk in crossing at dawn I have seen people say this water is murky with lots of fish therefore I do not know if there would be potential of sharks feeding,. I am not sure of the if the lagoon is open to the gulf. Also I am not not well versed in alligators or crocodiles so is this an area that this can be a concern? I realize that these may be silly questions but non the less I am asking lol...... I could not find any answers to these questions so perhaps these are no issues in the lagoon. How deep in the deepest part of the crossing my wife is 5' 4" so I would like to have an idea to give her a reference. What is the depth difference between low tide and high tide. As it appears low tide in in the early morning and high tide is about 2 pm. therefore I am guessing on the way back the water level will be higher. Any feedback would be appreciated. I realize you can walk around however I would like to overcome my reservation (fear) and cross the lagoon.
