Too many boats, too many stupid, ignorant and rude people, drinking too much and making too much noise. The island itself is nice, it is so unfortunate that people have to ruin it.

We love to take the grandchildren there to do the Lazy River. They also like to fish off the boat and always catch fish. The beach area is small and don't take kids on the weekend. Music is loud and too much partying going on....More

We visited on a Monday in August after renting a boat in Naples. The island was completely deserted and it was beautiful! The shells were unbelievable! This was by far our favorite thing on this trip!

Keewaydin Island is a one of the nicest boaters' beach in the West Coast of Florida. Accessible only by boat, it is a wilderness with no bathroom facilities, picnic areas or anything like that. Most of the island is privately owned with houses or docks,...More

We enjoyed the island. We picked up a nice variety of shells. Some of the tulips seemed a little larger than others we had. One side of the island is good for shelling and has some nice sand bars. The other side of the island...More

Loved this little island drenched in sun, shells, sights! Warm waters, great views of wildlife up close, quite and serene! A must visit and stop if you rent a boat or take a tour! Bring a bag for seashells, sand dollars, and conches! A highlight...More

We rented a boat and pulled it right onto the beach at Keewaydin Island. There is a bit of boat traffic there so perhaps consider visiting during the week, and not the weekend when lots of locals show up. Once you anchor on the beach,...More

Took a private charter to Keewaydin. Really beautiful beach that's a little different from the other Marco beaches. Great food boats to get lunch and lots of excellent shelling. Highly recommend !

This place was great for a day trip away for a different view. Saw dolphins as well, one got quite close! Shelling was great. Water shoes would be a good idea as some shells were quite sharp, and there are burrs on the island. Definitely...More

The island is free to the public. You need to go by boat to get there. We rented a boat for 4 hours and it was about $250. Rates may be down now that the high season is over.

There's always a food boat from the Capri Fish house that has fish sandwiches, burgers and dogs, etc. There's also an ice-cream boat that often comes to the island that sells the sorts of ice cream bars and pops that you'd... More

Yes we took our chairs and umbrella but we also rented a couple of chairs from Hemingway water shuttle too. They have the option for rental on their reservation page.
