Definitely one of my all time favorite places. We beached our small boat alongside other revelers. Picnics, Food Boats, bay on one side, gulf on the other. Floating in the warm waters on our tubes, drifting south and around the end of the key. Walking...More

Went here during the weekday when it's not so crowded. Crossed to the gulf side through the pathways provided and did some shelling. Very nice beach. Very relaxing and fun.

Beautiful Island and great spot for a Family Outing. Take Hemingway Water Shuttle out of Rose Marina on Bald Eagle Drive and you can go out and come back whenever you want. Some days there are Food Boats at the Island but not always so...More

Great area to beach your boat to hang out for a while or go looking for shells. This island is easy to get to through the gulf or inter coastal water way.

A good place to stop off and grab lunch and a swim. The water is full of small fish and the sandy beach is a must visit. But does get crowded as the day goes on.

Eight of us rented a boat and motored to Keewaydin Island....what an idyllic spot. Located between the intercoastal waterway and the Gulf of Mexico, it's a wonderful place to kick back, walk the beach, collect shells or hang out enjoying the water and the sunshine.

Took water shuttle to island for the day. Fun, clean beach. They had boat vendors with ice cream and food. Kids loved the ice cream boat!

I've been told you don't need a reservation to camp. Mostly everyone I've spoken to just sets up and camps without one.

The island is free to the public. You need to go by boat to get there. We rented a boat for 4 hours and it was about $250. Rates may be down now that the high season is over.

There's always a food boat from the Capri Fish house that has fish sandwiches, burgers and dogs, etc. There's also an ice-cream boat that often comes to the island that sells the sorts of ice cream bars and pops that you'd... More
