The Bay of Pigs Museum now has a satellite location on Calle Ocho and 14th Ave, right next to Optico Lopez, while its new interactive museum is under construction. At this temporary location, a passionate and knowledgeable guide will lead you through the powerful history of the Bay of Pigs invasion. Though the mission itself was unsuccessful, the courage and resilience of those who fought are stories that deserve to be heard.

As a special touch, you may even meet a veteran on site, ready to share personal insights into their experience. This is a rare opportunity to connect with history firsthand—a true Miami treasure not to be missed!

The Bay of Pigs Museum is excellent! My brother and I visited when we were in Miami. In the museum we were given a tour by two great people. One was the sister of a participant in the Bay of Pigs and the other was one of the young men trained by the CIA to participate in the Bay of Pigs. We got to hear firsthand from the tour guide that was held prisoner by the Castro regime for a year. He told us about the prisons, the incompetence of the U.S. government in planning the ill-fated invasion and about life under the Castro regime. In just two hours we learned so much! This place is truly a treasure! As an added bonus, admission was free.

I strongly recommend this place to any traveler who finds themselves in Miami.

Situated in little Havana, this museum is a must do especially if you do not know much about what happened in Cuba. From the minute you walk in you are welcomed by friendly informative staff. We booked a tour in advance online. We watched a short film about the events that occurred at the bay of pigs and at the end we met someone who was actually there Carlos and we were able to ask questions about anything. It was amazing to get first hand knowledge. I just wish we allowed more time. The museum is free, but do leave a donation at the end to help with the new extensions they are planning.

I walked in to this small unassuming space with very low expectations and even lower knowledge about Cuba and the bay of pigs. Had the absolute pleasure of spending a few hours with Carlos and walked out feeling humbled and honoured to have met him and shared this time together. Went with my 15 year old son who was fascinated to hear the decisions Carlos was making at his age when the biggest call most teenagers these days have to make is if you’re PlayStation or Xbox. Carlos exudes charm, hospitality and pride and the stories he had to tell were incredible. 100% worth the trip. Thank you Carlos

We stayed at Cavalier Hotel in South Beach, Miami. A hotel with the 1950’s atmosphere and character.
I had the feeling that it has not seen any improvement or upgrading since it was founded. The room had no view at all. Bathroom- immediately in the bedroom with a door that was slightly ajar and a bit smaller than the frame.

The only good thing about the hotel is its location with the beach and park across the street, the close proximity to the Art Deco area, with all the restaurants and cafes along the boulevard.

Then we rented a car and drove to Key West. I am a big fan of Hemingway and have always wanted to visit the place that attracted him so strongly that he stayed for years there and wrote seven books.

We stayed in the most amazing place in Key West - Seascape Inn. Located just off the main road downtown, two houses from Hemingway’s place the house is the most charming and beautiful place I’ve ever been to. Built in the Bahamas and brought over to Key West around 1849 the house is quite a historic monument.
We stayed in the Havana Suite. Very spacy, lots of windows, high ceilings, small veranda. Everything was beautiful and modern inside yet maintaining the unique character, style and elegance of the whole house.

There are many places to see walking distance. The house of Hemingway, the descendants of his polydactyl cats, the famous chickens, the sunset, the little Truman White House, Taylor fort…

Beautiful and cheerful small houses and inns with open wrap-around verandas.
Duval Street - picturesque with the numerous restaurants and cafes with numerous fans cooling down the customers, little stores, music flowing from everywhere.Little buggies and rickshas with laughing young people. The air is filled with nice aroma and you feel really liberated and in great vacation mood!

Visiting Key West is truly amazing, most memorable experience that
I would highly recommend and always Seascape Inn!!

The day I stopped by, there were several veterans at the Meseum. Watching the short documentary, hearing the vets' stories, and a guided tour from the meseum historian brought history to life. If you like history, this should be a stop on your list.

We visited this small Museum in Little Havana in early December. It may look closed but it is probably open----a buzzer will unlock the door for you. Few artifacts remain from a disaster where everyone is either killed or captured from a country that we have not recognized for over fifty years. It is a small wonder that few things are displayed. The staff took a dim view of John Kennedy. Hard to blame them. They had trained to go in through a small town with dock facilities. Kennedy changed their destination to a swamp with only one or two roads out that could be easily defended-----changed it within 36 hours of the invasion!!! After the first wave hist the beaches Kennedy also decided to cancel air cover. It was suicide and sure defeat. If anything this museum explains those things.

Sad bit of our history in which we sent a brigade of men trained by the CIA, into Cuba, they were supposed to land in another part of Cuba, but at the last minute it was changed, also they forego the air support and over 50,000 Cuban troops waited for them in shore, it is one of the biggest debacles that our Country has made by endangering these men's lives, which only a few made it through. Sad

The museum itself is a Veteran's Hall for members of the Actual CIA-trained Brigade members who were sent to Cuba and who were defeated in the Bay of Pigs.

While visiting, I met a radio operator who was in the invasion. Another man there authored a book titled, "After the Bay of Pigs." His mother negotiated with Fidel Castro for the release of the men who were taken prisoner in Cuba following the invasion.

Though small, the museum features a well displayed and archived collection of authentic artifacts from the invasion.

Because of the opportunity to meet the men who actually fought in the Bay of Pigs at this location, I rate the museum very high. Where else can one have such an opportunity? The men who visit this museum were trained in the early 1960s by the CIA to serve as what we today call Navy SEALS, in the Bay of Pigs event.

It's a mysterious part of American history that we can all learn the truth about at this location, from the actual men who carried out the invasion.

What an opportunity.

Free parking in Miami too.

If I had a young child who was interested in history, I would encourage them to do a project about the Bay of Pigs. What resources.

The museum is incredible because it serves as a Veteran's Club for the men who served the Bay of Pigs Invasion. The surviving men live in the area which surrounds the museum. Wow.

All that is asked is donations.

I sincerely wish the best for the men who support this museum. I hope others will donate more artifacts and add to the collection.

Americans need to understand what happened in this era of our history. The Bay of Pigs situation is similar to modern-day political war scenarios.
