If you enjoy Art Deco architecture, this is the place to be. Take a guided tour, which will save you some time, and will take you to the most interesting buildings. Plus, you'll get the history to boot.

I love architecture and enjoy taking long strolls throughout South Beach and discovering Art Deco gems off the beaten path. It is definitely one of the best ways become familiar with the area.

No question the architecture is on point but just not me.....maybe it was just bad timing and that hotel and the valet..

We passed this area onboard our Duck tour. It was cool to see the old restored buildings. The Architecture was beautiful and they were very colorful. Did not get a chance to take a stroll there.

As a child of Miami Vice this was a walk through the past. So many places that I recognized from the TV show.

Wonderful to see the restoration of these art deco buildings. Very beachy 1920s feel. No two buildings are alike. The pastel colors and the stucco are authentic. Nice to walk Ocean Drive and Collins Avenue to see allthe buildings. Be sure to walk around at...More

When you go to miami south beach you cannot miss it. The low characteristic houses full of colour and life makes the area unique and cool. It's definitely worth your time to walk around and just enjoy the architecture and feeling of the area.

I love art deco architecture, and to think that there is a whole village devoted to it! We loved walking and seeing all the places.

Stayed in a hotel in this district and had excellent chance to wander around and admire the various Art Deco buildings, both in the morning when it is quiet and in the evening when the buildings were lighted - neither perspective to be missed!

Is there a free shuttle that runs through the Art Deco district? If so, where can I find more information about it?

Need advice on how to spend our short amount of time here! Next week I will be vacationing in the Keys with my husband and our 14 year old son, who is currently using a wheelchair. We are flying into Fort Lauderdale on a Tuesday, renting a convertible, then spending the night in Miami before driving down to the Keys Wednesday. We will be in Miami from 3:30pm Tuesday until around 2:30 the next day.... We are most interested walking around the art deco area and Ocean Drive. We'd like to see it both during the day and also lit up at night. A wonderful dinner Tuesday night, and equally great breakfast or lunch Wednesday is a must, and of course, some people watching! I'm unsure if we should stay in Homestead and just visit the area or should we actually stay there? (looking at Collins Ave. hotels) Spending the extra money isn't really an issue. It's whether or not it will be too noisy and too much of a party atmosphere at night for our son... Any advice would be sooooo appreciated- running out of time!

It will be Spring Break through the end of the month, so it will be noisy. I live here and I can tell you that the middle of the week is a good time for you, but you do not want to stay in Homestead, it is simply too far... More
