The only issue is packed parking some days.I would not attempt during the day of a Holiday but you may be braver than me : )

Yes, but there is a toll booth you must go through to bring your jeep on the beach. it is worth it if you have never done it before because you can go north as far as Ponce Inlet where most of the surfers catch some waves... More

It is not far - but is more like 1/2 mile - very pleasant walk past shops and restaurants.
