We stumbled upon this beautiful state park by accident and ended up spending three days exploring and just hanging out. The beach is gorgeous and you can walk for an hour in either direction from the main entrance. On our second day, we rented kayaks...More

Excellent state park, with good displays. Unfortunately at the time of our visit, some maintenance was underway, so not all displays were up. None-the-less, it was a great family adventure. Kids were enthralled by the turtle and fish tank.

I love coming here. Really great for tourism if you are in town! But even better if you live here. Memberships are awesome here and very worth it. Staff is so kind. Makes living in FL so fun!

I came here with my family to rent some kayaks and explore the area a bit. We got there at 9:45 on a Saturday morning and two of us had to wait for a two-seater to come back in, so I would recommend getting here...More

The park itself is well-described by other reviewers. I highly recommend that you stop by the Visitor Center when you visit. It is small, but includes thorough coverage of the local natural history and exhibits of live fish, snakes and sea turtles. I was especially...More

I agree with the other reviewers about the beauty of this beach. My daughter & I liked the "beach clean up station." We both donned gloves & grabbed the bags & did a clean up of a section of beach. Take advantage of the volunteer...More

We have driven past many times and decided to finally check it out. It’s a really pretty park. There is beach access but be aware there is a 1600 foot boardwalk to cross to get to the beach and primitive bathrooms beachside. Not necessarily an...More

Easily accessible by auto. Our return to our automobile was hampered by the lack of signage. Warm reception, good entertainment at the amphitheater and excellent museums.

This is an oceanfront state park with a large lagoon for kayaking and bird watching. There is a small nature center, interesting talks by park rangers, clearly happy volunteers, and gorgeous shells I have not found elsewhere. The best birding and shelling is at low...More

We went to the park to kayak but unfortunately due to a small craft advisory warning we were not allowed to take these into the estuary. When we saw the 18ft surf on the nearby beach we could see why there was some concern about...More

if you check the maps/charts you will find it to be quite a distance. I don't think the kayaking from the park would allow such a trip - but if you have your own kayak it would be possible. Watch out for the power boat... More
