Very clean and well managed recreation area. Looks like it gets crowded during the summer. Lots of parking, tables and some park type grills. The spring is super clean with a sandy bottom. The spring is not super big, plenty to swim around fins and a mask are best. Nice trail with a board walk trough the swampy area.

I've never had a bad experience there. We call it our clubhouse. Swimming, scuba diving, canoeing, kayaks and hard boards to play with. There is a concession stand. It is so clean and the employees go out of their way to instruct and help, answer questions and keep it safe. I would never hesitate to go for a day, or... More

Cold showers, crowded, but the spring was nice. Not very well cared for. Full most of the time. Needed restrooms cleaned better

We traveled down 7 miles of dirt road through ocala forest to get there (the GPS took us that way but there is an easier way)... I almost turned around and went home... glad I didnt. The spring was some of the cleanest, clearest water I have ever seen with big and small fish floating right by you as you... More

My husband and I love the outdoors, birding, swimming and hiking. This park has it all. There is a large swimming area, easy access into the water. Very natural with grasses growing in the water. What a treat! The hiking trail is very nice, we are seniors and it was sufficient exercise for us. You can rent canoes there. We... More

Though the Alexander Springs website says dogs on leashes are permitted, we drove an hour and a half with our miniature poodle to learn at the gate that we couldn't take him down with us to view the springs - Dog safety from possible gators attacks etc was cited as the reason. Dogs are, however, permitted in the campground -... More

We will never go back to this place. Ever. Booked our rv site 4 months ago. Arrived today and were told one of their soon to be fired employees had decided to switch up some of the customers on the sites and she had given ours away. The people refused to move and the manager suggested calling the police to... More

We went kayaking for the first time. Where better to do this at. Why not here where the gators can eat us for lunch. I loved the area. It was a good lesson to visit a place that the worst can happen. Anything else is nothing compared to this. Love the place. I will be back when visiting in the... More

Be sure to get there early in the morning, during summer hours, as the park fills up quick. Lots of shaded picnic tables and pavilions. Water is clear with an interesting deep area over the spring. Diving is permitted as well as a canoe run. There is also a lovely nature trail, but be sure to put bug spray on... More
