This is my all time favorite Campground in Florida with large campsites and most are in the shade. The rangers are the friendliest I've ever met, many have become good friends. There is abundant wildlife, beautiful dark skies for star glazing, trails for hiking or biking and swamp buggy tours. This is a peaceful spot just to meditate. The Campground... More

It was our first time camping here but we've already decided it's our favorite. There were only horse sites left but they were perfect! They were pretty spacious and there were large trees providing shade so you and your stuff don't bake in the hot Florida sun. We did a short hike while we were there and saw a lot of... More

Camping here for 7 days in January. Make reservations early. If very remote area is what you are looking for, this is the place. Miles of hiking and horse back riding trails.

We stopped on our way heading to the Everglades. The campsite had a picnic table and fire ring. Bathrooms were very clean. We took several hikes. Both short but saw buzzards, herons, deer, raccoon and a couple of gators. Great place to see the stars.

This park is one of the hidden secrets of central Florida. As you drive down the main park road you feel like you are in a part of Florida that is still in the 19th century. There is nothing but wide open space between the horizons. There are few trees in this dry prairie. There is only one road in... More

I enjoy all sorts of camping from backpacking to car camping to RVing. My first visit to Kissimmee Prairie was in July and I was prepared to backpack out to the primitive camping site and enjoy the beauty. We set up camp by 6 in time for a thunderstorm and were able to be back out on the trail to... More

We enjoy RVing at the prairie...the wildlife is unbelievable and with the campground empty the deer, turkey, owls, opossum, raccoon, hawks can be seen right from you site. Yes in July it is HOT!! but their was a breeze everyday that make it enjoyable to sit outside and wait for the next visitor. Another thing the summer rains have made... More
