Spent the day there last weekend and very much enjoyed the beauty that this place has to offer. The water is beautiful and the park rangers very friendly.

This is a nice small state park, and it's certainly pleasant to visit at any time. And I noticed that the overnight cabins look very nice. But if you're coming to see manatees, you have to time your visit to the weather. Since there's no...More

We had never seen a manatee in the wild and were so glad we found this place! We counted about 200 of them during our visit. Such a beautiful setting with nice boardwalks for viewing these gentle creatures! The water is crystal clear with a...More

My husband and I spent the weekend in our travel-trailer in the park in early December. In the winter, the spring and the spring run are closed to swimming, scuba diving, kayaking and canoeing because this area is a haven for manatees who can’t cope...More

There is plenty to do at the park, but if you have small children it is limited. We didn’t want to take our kids on canoes or kayaks due to the alligators. We went on the boat tour however, that was pretty fun for them,...More

We arrived soon after the park opened in order to see the manatees. There were probably about a dozen manatees, plenty of fish, and waterfowl to enjoy watching.

On the day of our visit, the manatee count was 175,and we were not disappointed! The boardwalk trail is an easy walk, and the viewing areas are a great place to see these magnificent creatures! Be sure to call for the count on the morning...More
