Some sites are difficult to back into if you have more than a 30' unit. Staff are courteous and willing to help any way they can. The park store was adequate and open all the necessary hours. One thing the park could use is wifi.

The park is widespread for walking, hiking, kayaking, canoeing, campground is separated nicely from day use parts of the park. The camp store had a firepit and rocking chairs, very nice. Scott and his wife are awesome at the store. The boat ramp and sitting area on the deck looks so nice for warmer weather activity. We walked and explored... More

What a lovely, lovely state park. The sites are kinda close, but foliage does clearly separate them. The bathrooms are immaculate, and the general grounds are well maintained. The road could use a little love, but with all the nasty weather they had with the hurricane I'd say it was in very good shape. We paddled several times, the inner... More

We have been here about a week, our first site was really tight! So the ranger moved us to a larger site.then after a few days we moved to another, which was a nice site lots of trees. But don't wander into the woods . People have pooped in the woods and left toilet paper piles. Watch where you step.... More

It may seem like a bit of a drive to get up there, so just enjoy the ride. Park is a peaceful place to walk around and explore. You can drive right up to the statue for those that can't tolerate long hikes. It was a great place to explore flora/fauna with our grandson to teach him about nature.

A great place to camp or just visit for the day. The kids will like looking at the Indian chief statue. There are canoe rentals, a river, shells. Be sure not to forget anything because the camp store has everything marked up about 300%. There is a small entry fee for day visitors. A really beautiful park.

We love this park! It full of lush, beautiful landscape and very private lots. The bath house is very clean and well maintained. They have a store in the park that is owned by a very nice man, Scott and has plenty of firewood and ice for sale. The store overlooks the water and next to the kayak rentals and... More

This place was a great place even thought we did not go in the actual park and pay 5 dollars it would have been worth it. We went fishing down the road some and enjoyed the park through the free access.

We camped here for three days and the stay overall was pleasant. As has been mentioned, the dusty roads and sandy campsites make for more of a rugged experience when compared to the completely paved and barren campgrounds commercially available. Super friendly staff. Even though many of the rangers were off trying to clean up after Matthew blew in, the... More
