We first came here in May 2016, so on our return to Sarasota, we tried it again. Great for hiking, cycling or, in our case, a walk, we had a great time just walking around exploring. Good value

This park offers so many things that you can do, if you are a hiker there are many trails to explore. If you kayak you can rent one there or bring your own for an interesting trip. If you camp there are camp sites there.

Friendly staff, easily accessible facilities and user-friendly ease of entry into the waterway make this a good choice to explore one of Florida's many state parks. We kayaked out towards the Gulf and back, stopping to view bird life and coastal waterway homes. Decent picnic facilities and restrooms a bonus.

I've camped here a couple times and love it here. The park is beautiful with hiking and kayaking. You're likely to see a variety of beautiful animals and plants. I love this park and will keep coming back!

This annual event began years ago and cost $5.00. Now it rose to over $10.00 including a processing fee when you print the ticket yourself. Long traffic lines, confusing parking and no one to lead the way to the event. Once arrived, long winding line took over 1.5 hr to finally arrive at the trail only to be asked where... More

This small but fun park offers lots of activities from hiking, birding, camping, kayaking, fishing and swimming in the lake. Close to the infamous Legacy TrAil, a great bike and walking or jogging trail.

We took the opportunity this past "winter" to pack a picnic basket and ventured to this park for some excellent photographic captures. Although there are a lot of activities available, we enjoy quiet walking and "shooting" the wildlife nowadays mostly in a digital format. An added plus to this experience is the ability to have our precious Jack Russell Terrier... More

We're glad you enjoyed your visit! Winter is a gorgeous time here in the park! All the rangers here love animals, and we're glad you and your pup had a good interaction with us! If you are ever given a hard time about the leash rules, just know we do it for the dog's safety! Being Florida, you never know... More

Great state park in Venice, FL. Great location with friendly staff. Wish all the sites had 50amp. Some of the sites have very soft dust on the surface. A heavy RV might sink in it. It happened to me. Great trails. There is a spring fed lake open for swimming.

Thanks for your review! :) We're glad you enjoyed your time with us! The next time you visit us, be sure to let the Ranger Station know what happened to your RV, and hopefully they can put you on a more hard-packed site. If you are ever reserving online, you can always call us with questions about which site would... More

Lovely palm tree paradise. 5 min drive to the beach. Swimming hole offered. Rivers with kayakers surrounding the campsites. Love the tent only area. Friendly!
