I hate to give away my secret, but this beach is the best spot in Florida! While this beach isn't the biggest in the state, it is super clean and not populated ~ both of which are important to me.

Imagine you want to get away from it all, with a white, snowy, powdery, sandy beach without any rocks, a nice umbrella to give you some shade, sitting on a beach chair, looking out over emerald green water, with a nice cold drink in your hand. Yes, this image I just painted is what it's like on Santa Rosa Island... More

The beaches look like snow and feel like sugar crystals on your toes. The water gleams like emeralds; thus the name calling 'The Emerald Coast'.

Take this more interesting route and you'll not regret it. The island is both upscale in places, rustic in other places, and natural dunes in the natural areas. No tolls coming on the east end and leaving the west end bridge...don't know if there are tolls in the other direction.

If you desire beautiful deserted beaches, this is the place to go. We went in March it was a little windy but we enjoyed them anyway.

Went to the beach near the west end to have a picnic lunch and it was so lovely we ended up staying until sunset. Not crowded (during spring break), very clean, nice sand, easy parking and very relaxing. Made for an exceptionally nice day.

Native beach area...Beautiful beach with sugar fine white sand and emerald blue water...picture perfect! Beautiful drive if you don't want to walk the beaches! Shells to be found! Feel as if you have the beach to yourself! Many bath houses with flush toilets and wash off showers. Will be back!

I have taken two trips to Pensacola area and both trips spent time on Santa Rosa Island. It is a beautiful barrier Island just off the coast with a bridge to access it from the mainland. We spent ur time shopping, dining, wading in the Gulf of Mexico and exploring the historic forts and batterys from the American Civil War... More

Enjoyable visit, lovely beach, plenty of restaurants nearby, spent a day of our vacation there and would love to go back one day.
