The Best View in Town!

Climb 177 steps up the historic Pensacola Lighthouse & Museum for one of the most beautiful views on the Gulf Coast. Built in 1859, the lighthouse is located on board NAS Pensacola. The top of the tower offers stunning views of Pensacola Pass (where Pensacola Bay meets the Gulf of Mexico), three forts, the Pensacola skyline and the historic Navy Yard. The fully restored Keepers' Quarters, built in 1869, is home to a museum and a gift shop.

Visit this historic spot in America's First Settlement, established in 1559. Make a day of it and visit the National Naval Aviation Museum and Fort Barrancas while you're here. Our nature walk takes you to the white sands of beautiful quiet-water beach–a perfect beach for kids. Bring the family and a picnic lunch and stay a while. The Pensacola Lighthouse and museum is open 7 days/week. Special tours include Blue Angel practices, Light of the Moon and Ghost Hunts. Private tour and function times available as well.

This lighthouse is located on the US Naval Air Station and specific identification is required; contact for details (850-393-1561 or email at info@pensacolalighthouse.org The surrounding grounds replicate the way lighthouse keepers lived and are well kept and well staffed. The museum is informative with numerous displays and digital media. The lighthouse tower is an easy climb, but being the tallest... More

There is a charge to get in, had lots of interesting facts about light houses. The climb is tough, but the view is worth it. On the way up there are a few places to sit and rest.

The walk to the top was worth the views! It was beautiful!! What we were not expecting was narrow steps with no railing. My nine-year old was terrified. I was afraid he was going to fall. This is not an attraction for someone scared of heights or with walking difficulties. Much of the climb was "one-way" and you had to... More

A must see attraction! Climb to the top for fascinating breathtaking views of the bay. Would not want to tackle that climb in the summer heat. Check out the creeper in the basement!

This is a great place to visit anytime, but extra fun on Halloween! The area is full of history, and we have always had great guides. Be prepared, there are a lot of steps to the top.

It's a lovely lighthouse although we just took photos and have not visited inside yet. It's within the navy base that is Home of Blue Angels so make it part of your stop there to see the famous museum there also. This is a cool spot and not to be missed while you are in the area.

History galore! I climbed to the top! This Lighthouse and museum is well cared for and well run. Wonderful events go on here and the view from the top is outstanding. It's well worth the trip to NAS!

We visited with our grandchildren. Our granddaughter who was 5 was a little young to climb the lighthouse but our 8 year old grandson loved it. The view from the top was great!

My sons and I are fans of lighthouses, and go up in one every chance we get. The view of the gulf was beautiful with sailboats gliding by, and to the rear we could see the Blue Angels planes parked on the tarmac of the airbase. The small museum was interesting, and the gift shop was a good place for... More

Though for what it is, I think the cost is a little much for a family. But is beautifully maintained and has great views.
