Very clean beach with lots of amenities. There is a covered pavilion for parties, restrooms, outdoor showers, and beautiful beach front close to parking lot. You have to pay or enter by park pass so it makes it more private from just anybody. A great place for families!!

This is a great family beach. There is an admission charge but Seniors can buy a lifetime pass. Not a lot of surf action except on occasions when there is an offshore storm. Water temperature mostly comfortable but a bit warm in Aug/Sep.

I live near Johnson Beach and visit often both alone and with family. Don't let the name fool you; its part of the Nation Seashore system. From a single two lane road, you can access both the gulf and the bay side, known locally as Big Lagoon. It has a system of boardwalks through the dunes and a main parking... More

This is a National Park beach so there is an admission charge. This beach came highly recommended and we were excited to take it in. As with MANY beaches we visit, be aware that they look different every time you go depending and the weather before and on the day of a visit. The beach is expansive with many walkway... More

No trip to the Gulf is complete with out a beach visit! Our friends recently moved to Pensacola and we found Johnson Beach only 20 minutes from them. Near the AL border, this is an excellent clean beach option for those wanting less of the party crowd and more beach relaxing. We visited during off-season; we hear it's quite popular... More

This is a lovely beach. Off season it is absolutely peaceful. This beach is a favorite of mine and my guests regardless what time of year. It does have an entrance fee which is well worth it!!

Nice, clean, serene, and not crowded. Beautiful beach with history, good place to go birding, walking, fishing, and relaxing. There are multiple beach access spread all throughout and parking along the side of the road is permitted. At the end of the paved road, you can reach Fort Mcree only by foot.

Been visiting here since I was little. Brought my girls to visit since they were babies and now my grandsons. Taught them to cast a net, fish, and enjoy this beautiful peace of heaven. I hope this beach stays as a place for all to visit.

What a beautiful, little known, sugar white sands beach National Park. The park is great for tanning, shelling (especially after a storm),beaching, swimming, fishing and at night star-gazing.

This secluded beach is stunning. Filled with beautiful sea birds, seashells, and a panoramic ocean view that extends forever, you'll find everything you need for a relaxing/energizing stroll. Everything, except other people, which makes it extra special. The sand is so white, Northerners will have to mentally remind themselves it's not a beach of pristine snow.
