This place is cool. Nice place to catch crabs. We had a good time. We even fished off of the dock. They also have a snack stand too. That was nice. Our family really enjoyed our day here.

If you want to see what this section of the Gulf Coast looked like before development, this is the place. Nice boardwalk hikes (gator protection) to Long Pond and along Intercoastal, including a nice observation tower at East Beach.

Saw a couple reviews mentioned snakes. Are the snakes mainly on the trails or are they being spotted around campsites as well?

I've been there about 200-220 times over the last 10 years. The only snakes I have seen were on the main entrance road that is tarred. 2 alive, one dead. Went today, no snakes, saw two antlered deer though.
