This is a good place to view bald eagles, owls, pelicans, herons, egrets, hawks and songbirds. Animals are brought here for rehab but may need to stay. Staff will answer questions and give short talks. Donations are requested. Feedings of pelicans are at 2:30. Hours are 11-4 daily.

My husband & I unexpectedly discovered this place while checking out Ponce de Leon Park. What a great place!! Native FL wildlife, except snakes & alligators that are injured, orphaned or displaced are brought to the center. Most are rehabilitated and released. Those with extensive injures have a permanent home there. This is great for all ages. We saw owls,... More

Worth visiting! Really enjoyed the owl that was out with a handler. Would have been nice to have more of an ability to photograph birds, however, the cage wire made it prohibitive. For $100 you can go inside the cages.

Exhibits the many species of bird that you'll see in Florida. Knowledgeable staff answered all of our questions about the place and the birds living there. Most are rescues that can no longer live in the wild.

We visited Babcock Ranch Preserve (which I highly recommend) went to lunch in the city and were about to head home. I GPS'd Peace River and saw how close it was to the restaurant and downtown area. We arrived at 4pm (closing time) but they let us in and we never felt rushed. Not only did we enjoy the birds... More

We enjoyed our visit to the wildlife center. Not only do they have nice outdoor displays but guides near them ready to answer any questions that a person may ask. They rely on donations to continue their work as they don't receive any government funds. It's quite a wonderful place that cares for God's creatures.

This place has permanent and animals being nursed back to health. The guides will help or you can walk around by yourself. A must do if you are near Punta Gorda.

Beautiful animals being taken care of by mostly volunteers. Everyone is so knowledgeable and friendly. The birds that can no longer fly have their forever homes and some are released once recovered. They live by donations
